How does it shrink the PDF?
It re-compresses the images embedded in the PDF at a lower quality, in your browser. Scanned and photo-heavy PDFs shrink the most.
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser, your file never leaves your device, and nothing is sent to a server.
Why did my PDF barely shrink?
PDFs that are mostly text (not images) are already small, so there is little to compress. This tool helps most with image-heavy or scanned PDFs.
Will it lower the quality?
Images are re-encoded at the level you pick (Strong is smallest, Light keeps the most quality). Text stays sharp; page dimensions are unchanged.
