Questions & answers
Good to know
Common questions about size, privacy, and cost.
How do I convert WebP to PNG (or PNG to WebP)?
Drop the images in, choose the target format (PNG, JPG or WebP), and click Convert. Everything runs in your browser, your files never leave your device.
Can macOS export WebP?
No, Preview and Finder can view WebP but cannot export to it. This tool encodes real WebP (and PNG/JPG) locally with nothing uploaded, which is exactly the gap macOS leaves.
Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes, add .heic/.heif files and convert them to PNG, JPG or WebP. (For a HEIC-only batch the dedicated HEIC → JPG tool is also available.)
Why does JPG lose transparency?
JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are filled with white. Choose PNG or WebP to keep transparency.
What does the quality slider do?
For JPG and WebP it trades file size for fidelity, lower quality means a smaller file. PNG is lossless, so the slider is hidden for it.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser with the canvas API, nothing is sent to a server.
Does it cost anything?
No, it is completely free, no signup.
